Tibetan Buddhist Perspectives on Death Part 2: Navigating the Bardo (In-Person and on Zoom)

The concept of the bardo, the intermediate state between death and rebirth, is one of the most intriguing yet misunderstood aspects of Tibetan Buddhism. While often associated with the afterlife, the teachings on the Bardo offer profound insights that are highly relevant to our current lives. Understanding the Bardo is not merely an intellectual exercise but a practical guide to living and dying with awareness, compassion, and wisdom.

In this class, participants will:

  • Gain an introductory understanding of what the Bardo is, as explained in Tibetan Buddhist philosophy.
  • Learn the practical implications of Bardo teachings, including how they can help us navigate life’s transitions, make meaningful decisions, and prepare for the inevitable journey of death.

The class will combine philosophical teachings with meditation and interactive discussion, all aimed at demystifying this complex topic and making it accessible to newcomers. Participants will leave with a foundational grasp of the bardo and practical tools to integrate these teachings into their daily lives.
