Sur Offering Practice (In-Person and on Zoom)

For those attending in person please bring a small portion of oats, dried fruit, or biscuits made without eggs to add to our collection of offerings.

In the profound and diverse practices of Tibetan Buddhism, the Sur offering stands out as a powerful ritual of generosity, purification, and healing. This ancient practice, deeply rooted in the Vajrayana tradition, involves the offering of aromatic substances, symbolizing the transformation of attachment and desire into selfless generosity. By engaging in this practice collectively, we not only cultivate merit and purify negativities but also extend our compassion to all beings, seen and unseen.

This practice is dedicated in particular to those beings in the bardo, including the tens of millions of turkeys recently killed.
