Sundays with Geshe Dhondup: Exploring the Three Principal Aspects of the Path (In-Person and on Zoom)

Sundays, Dec 10, 2023 – Dec 24, 2023, Jan. 14, 21, 28, Feb 4, 11

The Three Principal Aspects of the Path – renunciation, bodhicitta, and the correct view of emptiness – serve as the essential foundation for all practitioners seeking enlightenment. This course is designed to provide an in-depth exploration of these three pillars, which encapsulate the essence of the teachings of the great Tibetan master, Lama Tsongkhapa.

Throughout this course, participants will:

  • Delve into the concept of renunciation, understanding it not merely as a rejection of worldly pleasures, but as a deep recognition of the unsatisfactory nature of samsaric existence and a heartfelt desire for liberation.
  • Explore the altruistic intention of bodhicitta, the wish to attain enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings, and learn practical methods for cultivating this profound state of mind.
  • Gain insights into the profound philosophy of emptiness, the correct view of the ultimate nature of reality, which is essential for cutting through the ignorance that binds us to cyclic existence.

This course will combine scholarly teachings with practical meditation exercises, interactive discussions, and personal reflections. It is designed to cater to both beginners and advanced practitioners, offering a rich understanding of these key aspects and their application in daily practice.
By the end of the course, participants will have a deeper appreciation of the Three Principal Aspects of the Path and be equipped with the knowledge and tools to integrate these teachings into their spiritual journey.
