His Holiness the Dalai Lama says: “The practice of tonglen, giving and taking, encapsulates the practices of loving-kindness and compassion.”
As a concise but profound method it can be practiced whether on or off the cushion. It is therefore perfectly suited to employing in our busy lives. Especially, we can utilize it particularly in those moments of stress, confusion, fear or harm. But, amazingly, so can we in those rare radiant moments where everything things to be going swimmingly! Suited to new and experienced practitioners alike. One does not need to identify as Buddhist to do this practice as it can also be viewed as a tool for psychological transformation. In this talk Dr Ross Moore will introduce the method together with some stories from his own experience.
