Be Your Own Therapist

Term July 7, 21, 28, August 11 and 18

Although Geshe-la remains in Nepal for now, he will be joining us virtually on zoom from 7:00-8:00 P.M. Mountain Time, so we’re thrilled to welcome back our resident teacher Geshe Thubten Sherab for Be Your Own Therapist.

For tonight’s talk Geshe la will help us learn how to overcome our doubts in relation to the more difficult topics of the lam rim, like the beginningless and endless nature of the mind, and seeing all sentient beings as having been ones mother countless times in the past.

These open-ended 60-minute discussions are an easy-going introduction to the Buddhist approach to the mind. Participants learn how to pay attention to, identify and then unpack the thoughts that inform our emotions in day-to-day life and learn how to reconfigure them, rather than focusing on the event or person that triggered them. This is the key to success in Buddhist practice. As Lama Zopa Rinpoche says, “We can mold our mind into any shape we like.”

If you have a Dharma question you would like to ask Geshe-la, please send your question to Shankha at spc@tnlsf.org.
